To this day, it makes no sense to judge a book by it's index, so why judge a team by its preseason play?
When was the last time a Chicago Bears game in August mattered? Outside of the first half of the third preseason game, they do not. Blackhawks warm up game with meaning? Not until the last two, if that. White Sox or Cubs swinging in March? You should only watch to wish the Arizona weather was in frigid Illinois, as your AA team takes the field while the guys you see from April on take one at-bat and then get a tan.
