Game three of the World Series is in the books and the Texas Rangers are finally on the board.
The Texas Rangers have their destiny in their own hands and they know exactly how to handle things from here. As long as they do what they're capable of doing and putting together the kind of effort we saw from them in the ALCS against the New York Yankees, this series won't be just tied up, but the Rangers will have the lead going back to San Francisco.

As The World Series plays out over the next week, baseball fans can expect a lot of senseless yammering from Tim McCarver and Joe Buck about the Texas Rangers and the San Francisco Giants.
No doubt, Josh Hamilton's long, strange trip to stardom, Cliff Lee's historic level of postseason brilliance and Tim Lincecum's unique pitching-style will be discussed ad nauseam (and subsequently put viewers to sleep by the 4th inning).

Vin Scully has announced he'll return to the Dodgers in 2011 to broadcast games for an amazing 62nd season.
In 1953, at the age of 25, he became the youngest person to ever broadcast a World Series game, a record that still stands. He has called 28 of them altogether, another record.
The Red Sox should be out of miracles this century judging by the magnitude of their last one -- the comeback from three games to nil against the Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series, followed by the franchise's first World Series championship since 1918.
The task now may be less daunting, but only barely so.

While baseball fans still rank 'The Catch' by Willie Mays in the 1954 World Series as one of the greatest baseball moments of all times, scientists see the feat as more of a puzzle: How does an outfielder get to the right place at the right time to catch a fly ball?
